Clay tile needs a careful crew
Clay tile can last a lifetime, but it breaks when someone walks on it the wrong way. Repairs on clay roofs should be done by a crew that knows where to step and carries matching tile. When a clay tile cannot be matched, we pull one from a hidden spot and put the new tile there.
Older homes, older layers
Some Claremont homes have had more than one roof put on over the years, and some still have the original wood decking boards with gaps between them. That matters when the roof is replaced, because new decking may be needed. A good estimate checks the attic first and says so in writing.
Trees and gutters
Claremont is known for its trees. Leaves pack the valleys and gutters, and the water backs up under the roof edge. Many leaks here are fixed by clearing the valley and replacing the metal under it.
